The National Centre for Emergency Management Studies is a specialist Centre within TAFE NSW that provides professional development or accredited training/education to all agencies, organisations and individuals in the emergency and disaster sector. The eleven content areas currently offered include five Units delivered online, six Units that include a face-to-face workshop and all able to be delivered with a workshop in any state of Australia, New Zealand or the South Pacific. NCEMS represents excellence in Incident Management – taught by academic practitioners contracted from the industry to TAFE NSW for their outstanding expertise. It’s a winning combination. Content includes Exercise Management, Coordinating Resources, Recovery, Community
Engagement, Risk Management and Treatment, Evaluation for Emergencies, Community Safety Messaging, Business Continuity Planning, Introduction to EM, Planning for Emergencies and Political Acumen. These Units packaged together can aggregate to the Advanced Diploma in Public Safety (Emergency Management) for individuals seeking a nationally recognised qualification.
Volunteer Scholarships are also available for all or part of the Advanced Diploma through AIDR. Other content areas at any level or as professional development can be developed and delivered if demand exists.
