Emergency Services Volunteers Association Inc. – Stand 316

Emergency Services Volunteers Association Inc. was formed in 2003 to represent the volunteers of the newly formed Fire & Emergency Service Authority (FESA) Volunteer Units, that were later split to form Emergency Services Volunteer Units and Fire Service Brigades and then in 2015 these were amalgamated to become Volunteer Fire & Emergency Services.
Initially these were formed when a Bushfire Brigade and State Emergency Service Unit amalgamated due to lack of membership in either group or both groups consisting of the same volunteers. A Volunteer Fire & Emergency Service can also be formed when a community, normally small and/or remote, requires more than just a bushfire firefighting capacity and take on other emergency services roles. All Volunteer Fire Emergency Services take on the roles that best serves and protects their community.
Some Volunteer Fire Emergency Services will cover Bushfire and then one or more of the following; structural firefighting, HAZMAT, Road Crash Rescue, some take on State
Emergency Service roles such as land search, storm or flood. Due to the complexity of training and management these Services are 100% managed, funded and equipped by Department of Fire & Emergency Services. The Association consists of Volunteers and employ an Executive Officer and part time
Administration Officer. We strongly advocate for our Volunteers which are widely spread throughout Western Australia, from Eucla in the South to Wyndham in the north and in between, recently we have had 2 outer metropolitan Services join us as well.
